It’s a major bittersweet to be back home. It was my actual first time at a retreat as a real real leader, so fully being on the other side of the fence was a little bit of a culture shock.
I’m obviously used to leading due to the paper and having to be the “chief,” but sadly, for me it was different because at school, there’s no encouraging others with the Word, or sitting and praying with them or trying to get to know them on a personal level. It’s all work.
Grant it, I’ve been a leader for other trips, but this was the first time with my current church, and to say the least, I learned a lot.
Even with a simple “debrief” I am still learning things I should’ve done, or what I should’ve done differently.
But it was an amazing time in Yosemite, and I really hope the pictures will show it. It was beautiful, and I’m blessed to have gone.
