Nothing to do but lift them up
Don’t you hate it when you know someone has the potential to go far and do great things if they would only stop the crap they’re doing and grow up?
Ever have that feeling where you want to shake them until they get it and make a change?
Yeah, me too. It’s so heartbreaking when they know the truth and know what they have to do but totally refuse it and turn the other way. Aside from family, I can’t say my heart has ever really broken like this for a friend.
Talent: wasted.
Brains: wasted.
Goals: wasted.
All for that little feeling of satisfaction. Seriously, I’m just at a loss for words and know the only way for this life to turn around is for the Lord to bring them to their knees.
Lord, be with my friend. They know Your truths. They know the only way to get the satisfaction and comfort they’re looking for. I know the root of all this is so much deeper than that urge to kill the craving. I pray that they would seek You out. Call on You in their darkest times; their times of heartache, saddness, lonliness, helplessness. Grab a hold of their heart. Become real to them. Most of all, keep them safe. But I pray they would be miserable doing what they’re doing until they call out to You and bow down to You.
